Abstract
It is a shame that we have learnt no lesson from the worst ever industrial catastrophe. A decade ago, nearly 5 lakh people suffered or lost their lives due to poisonous gas leak from Union Carbide, and people still go to the hospital to treat the medical conditions that arose because of this leak. Even after such a big catastrophe, it appears that another one like this may take place at any time in India. This is clear from several such poisonous gas leaks that took place at multiple places in India since the Union Carbide incident.
