A new powers statute went into effect in Wisconsin on May 16, 1965. Professor Effland, research reporter of the State Bar Association committee that drew up the new statute, here discusses the history of the former statute and its interpretation, the operation of the new statute, and some of the problems that might arise in the interpretation of the new statute.
