Abstract
This short essay begins by presenting some of the main federal agencies and state agencies charged with some role in addressing food safety. It next develops some of the more recent attempts at coordinating regulatory approaches, such as the President¢__‰__¢s Food Safety Working Group, and some elements of the Food Safety Modernization Act. Finally, the essay discusses various coordination problems still observed within the federal regime, and explores options contained in the Food Safety Modernization Act for further coordination activities.
