The past two legislative sessions in Wisconsin have been hotbeds of activity concerning the redistricting of state assembly and senatorial districts. The repercussions of the legislative action have been two lawsuits, columns of newspaper dissertation on the subject, and probably as hot a political issue to the Wisconsin voter as the state has seen. This comment will describe what happened and analyze the policy factors involved in redistricting as they apply to the two recent Wisconsin Supreme Court cases.
